An intimate stay on the surfers’ haven La Pax coast, this grown-up bolthole of a hotel is full of historic charm. Once owned by a Spanish countess (you can spot some of the building’s more rocky past throughout), inside, it’s all about opulence – vaulted ceilings, dreamy canopy beds and murals painted by artist Nef Espino. Beauty is in as much of the details as in the rich, museum-like layered designs, but the vibe is so laidback, so much so you’ll want to lock your phone away in the drawer. We love spending time by the sunken pool – it’s oh so smart and sophisticated – or getting lost in the ‘pueblos magic’ of Todos Santos.
