An original 1948 motor lodge revamped by the people behind The Drifter and Hotel Saint Vincent in NoLa, The Ranch Motel is still quirky but much more comfortable. Bathrooms see LeLabo Toiletries and Parachute linens and towels (swish for a spot that’s modelled off of a motorway pull-off) with a parasol-lined pool and pickleball court so popular it’s quite the summertime scene (San Antonio residents can swing a membership to it too). The mezcal bar is filled with bright-light neon signs and mid-century nods, and we particularly love the listening bar for late-night stories.
