The Greenwich has mastered the art of discretion in a busy city where space and privacy are precious commodities. A passion project of Robert DeNiro, the TriBeCa hotel actually feels more like a friend’s home. The interiors match the sexiness and smartness of downtown Manhattan – deep leathers, thick woods and swirling marble keep things classic but in the rooms and beyond words penthouse designed by Axel Vervoordt it feels more Wabi Sabi than New York loft. The Japanese influence continues in the spa – a place to lose all sense of time in during heated pool swims and balancing massages. This is a subtle space for quiet moments but with excellent service to remind you where you are, and it’s memorable for a reason.
