This newly-opened bolthole was a chalet hotspot in the ‘50s – now, vintage and artisan interiors echo its mid-century glory (by the cool kids at Nicemakers, based in Amsterdam), with nods to Wales, where The Brecon's founder hails from. With big old views of the breathtaking Swiss Alps, 22 soft soothing rooms and suites boast natural materials like timber, stone and leather with lots of interesting brand details too – hand-knotted rugs by Layered, oversized, handmade pendant lights by Mullan Lighting and double cloth weaves from Pembrokeshire-based weavers Melin Tregwynt. Hospitality is a top priority, with locally sourced food and drink being a big part of the loft stays. Good news too, as everything is included in your stay – from breakfast to dinner and everything in between (read: spa access, drinks and even afternoon tea). Your only task is to unwind, whether through aprés-ski, spa or outdoor pool. And to keep it a secret…it’s that lovely.
