Fans of this group’s outpost in cool Comporta were thrilled to hear of its city opening in 2022. But this time, and a bit different from how the regulars of Sublime know it, they’ve put their efforts into converting a 20th-century townhouse in Lisbon. In the Amoreiras district – next to the fancy Príncipe Rea and the Bairro Alto – the 15-room hotel (rather guesthouse) is surrounded by beautiful, peaceful gardens, so calmness still comes into play. Inside, it’s packed full of pattern and colour. This is not for the purist – it’s charming and playful. You’ll spot nods to the city with design details like geometric wallpaper that mimics tiles. It’s sort of the type of place to be taken care of when in town for a short stint but to make it a base for city exploring.
