In a lovingly restored sanatorium built in 1929, this mountain hotel is an off-grid escape. It’s remote in the ancient forest of Mount Mainalos and lets guests get the best of that super-fresh Peloponnese air. They play with the altitude here, at 1200 metres above sea level, the space pushes the out-with-nature feel and focuses on slowing down and embracing the Greek countryside. Rooms feel earthy, with tonal shades and sweeping fir tree views. But it’s also about doing and feeling: there’s mushroom hunting, horse riding and honey harvesting for those who can’t sit still; plus wellness treatments that nod to the history of the building for those who can.
