For a proper ski vacation, there’s nowhere like Les 3 Vallées – surrounded by pretty pistes and long-flowing glaciers, it’s home to the highest slopes in Europe. Ski-in, ski-out of them at Hotel Le Val Thorens, a modern hotel (thanks to the team at Beaumier) with a funky retro past. The interiors are oh-so-fun and pack plenty of personalities (oversized furniture, pops of colour, woollen rugs) but fit in well with the 70s-style charm (who does love a soundtrack of Italo-disco classics?) of the building too. We love to pull up to the hotel bar — slinking into velvet seats with a martini — to travel back in time after a day on the slopes.
