A new addition to the Medina, this ‘house of friends’ as they call it consists of seven riads turned into one design-focussed stay. 14 beautifully crafted rooms are individually designed (and inspired by an iconic figure of fame) in splash-out ways –some with jaw-droppingly cool art, others with old letters to Saint Laurent and Mick Jagger from one of the building’s previous owners, interior designer Bill Willis. And art is big here, over 300 works cover the walls. Stylish guests and solo travellers are often found in shady nooks and crannies with a book or a stiff drink, while sun seekers cool off in the lap pool or up on the rooftop with an iced mint tea. Don’t skip on the restaurant, this is some of the freshest and most traditional tagine around.
