Staays

At the foot of the Andes Mountains in the Maipo Valley, Hotel Casa Real might be more obviously known for its wine production (the estate is especially loved for its Cabernet Sauvignon). The gardens are totally pretty – a welcome break from knowing that Santiago is just a 40-minute drive away – and designed by leading French landscape gardener Guillaume Renner. With no kids under 12 are allowed, the pool and sauna often see cute holidaying couples or travelling families lay their ground. Rooms see antiques, oil paintings and textiles deck the walls, but when you do leave your suite, there's plenty to do out and about: winemaking classes, a museum and even a Gothic chapel that hosts concerts. It feels a bit like time is stuck in place, in the best way and celebrated to the fullest in every corner.
