Hidden away in a pine-lined cove in Porto-Vecchio, sisters Hélène & Lise Canarelli have turned their former family home into a super smart getaway. There's a private beach (one of the prettiest on this side of the island) and pretty balconies that look out over beautiful parkland, gardens and that beach (we suggest staying in 'The Cabin in the Woods’). Summering Europeans know how good the spa is too – it’s called Nucca, the natural skincare brand the sisters founded. Once you've grabbed your key from the XVII-century ship’s sternpiece at reception, you'll find Mediterranean interiors with a hint of the ‘60s style: travertine floors, reclaimed wagon planks and terracotta tiles by Alain Vagh. As for dinner? La Pinède uses organic ingredients from the hotel's garden and pours some pretty delicious Corsican rosé.
