London’s Paddington might not be the most obvious choice for a smart stay. Yes, it’s super central, and the station is right there for train hopping, but now, breaking the mould, it’s home to one of the coolest openings the city has seen in 2024. Hidden away in leafy Norfolk Square is this recent design project by Italian architect and interior designer Fabrizio Casiraghi (the good friend to the creative brains behind fashion brand BODE, who curated the lobby shop). The interiors are the right mix of eccentric, grown up and unexpected –those big hits of burnt orange are what we might love the most. It requires a doorbell ring to get in, so there is an air of residential secrecy, but it’s an ideal base for travellers of all types (the cabin rooms are petit but bijoux for solo-ers) and as stylish as can be.
