Staays

It's not out of sheer luck that this island retreat shares its name with a Bond book written by Ian Flemming. The British writer actually spent much of his life here, penning his famous 14 tales of spies and girls in silk dresses while sipping on planter's punch. But now, GoldenEye is one of the Caribbean's most glamourous places to stay – with its gathering of smart cottages, one being Flemming personal abode. This is the type of place to get to know the crowd, and they're cool regulars. Staff are whip-smart and on it, plus, if you ask them for a fresh coconut, a member of the team will climb a tree, cut one down and serve it up straight, not stirred.
