It’s a fitting neighbourhood for The Broadwick – quite an eclectically fun and groovy hotel – to open up in. The 57-room Soho pad is the passion project of owner Noel Hayden who enlisted the king of maximalism, Martin Brudnizki to dress up the interiors. And it’s certainly a smack-you-in-the-face-disco-design-colour-pop party inside – pink elephant mouldings, parrot-decked wallpaper, cheetah-print fabrics. Discreetly placed around are little works by Warhol and Bacon too. Suites feel remarkably pared back from the rest of the hotel, and a ways away from the noise from the streets below, but this is why we love it. Hiding out in the Bar Jackie for a coffee or feasting on fresh pasta in the cherry-red basement restaurant feels otherworldly. This is a splurge-worthy spot on all levels, so ride the wonderful wave that it is.
