There’s a slight Wes Anderson feel to this iconic Swiss hotel: the turrets, the uniforms, the snowy mountain location. And there’s history everywhere you look – the 155-room hotel was built in 1896 by namesake Caspar Badrutt – but today, there’s a modern mix giving the place a bit more of a Mayfair feel. Attention to detail is big too – including hot water bottles in your room when it’s a particularly frosty morning – and it really runs like a well-oiled machine with the team always being a step ahead. There are a lot of excellent spots to eat and drink (more than a dozen), so really there’s no need to leave unless it’s to hit the slopes of St. Moritz or hike through the Engadin valley.
